Award-Winning Clown from Pittsburgh, PA Brings Her Show to the Hollywood Fringe

LOS ANGELES, CA – Spend an evening in the presence of royalty as award-winning clown, Sara Kantner, performs her new show, The Queen, at the Hollywood Fringe. Audiences have three opportunities to see this absurd and interactive clown show at the Activist Kitchen in East Hollywood from June 9 through June 14.

Kantner plays Queen Anne the 8th of Farthingham, a little-known queen from a long time ago, who needs to find a “job”. A job. The thing you need to get coin. Something that you can do based on your skills. But, what skills does The Queen actually have besides playing marbles, drinking Coca-Cola, and being slightly deranged? You’ll help the Queen uncover these skills in this absurd and interactive clown show. Kantner blends physical comedy, improvisation, and idiot magic into a must-see for fans of period pieces, Mr. Bean, and mocking the rich.

The show won Audience Choice and the Encore Award at the 2026 Pittsburgh Fringe. “The audience reception to The Queen has made me feel valued as a working-class artist,” says Kantner. “I created the show because I’ve been working since I was 16. I’ve never had the opportunity to relish in having no responsibilities. Exploring the idea of being a queen and the idiocy that comes along with never having a job just felt like fun. And, it is!”

“Her connection to the audience was so strong, and it really sold the emotional ending of the show. I left feeling pretty creatively inspired and seriously impressed with all she is doing in it,” said audience member, Victoria Kallsen.

Sara Kantner is a comedian, clown, and comedy educator based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her work encompasses long-form improvisation, character creation, physical comedy, and fully embodied play. She has performed at the Montreal Clown Festival, the Philadelphia Fringe, the Fun & Dumb Improv Festival, the Second Best Improv Fest, and the Detroit Improv Festival.
