A double feature of short clown plays about the end of the world!

Due to an Unforeseen Apocalypse…
Written & Performed by Gherkin Picklewater

In this one-man clown variety show, Gherkin Picklewater takes audiences on a wild trip to the final performance of humanity’s last-ever dinner show, taking place mid-apocalypse. Through clown, eccentric juggling, live music, escapology, stand-up comedy, burlesque, and existential dread, Gherkin does his damnedest to make sure the last show on earth is one to be remembered.

On The Road To Armageddon
Written & Performed by Gherkin Picklewater & Nick Dickson

Long after the bombs have fallen in the AI-Resource wars, two individuals struggle to survive. Their hungers driving them to extreme ends, innocent young Jeb and the salacious Slugworth meet in a battle of (a lack of) wits to determine who will survive and whose hunger gets sated. See Bloodlust, Absurdity, Gun Play, and possibly a little Cannibalism in On The Road To Armageddon!

At the end of the world, two clowns explore the depths that their hungers will drive them to. Nick Dickson (Jeb) and Gherkin Picklewater (Slugworth) explore cartoonish violence, hunger, despair, and ukulele music in this short one-act play set in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

CONTENT WARNING: Shows contain Adult Themes including Partial Nudity, Ghosts, Cartoonish Violence, Gunshots, the Use of a Firearm, and Death.

Nick Dickson –
Nick graduated from UC Santa Cruz with degrees in Theatre Arts and Literature. He was introduced to Clowning at UCSC and studied for two years at the Clown Conservatory at Circus Center, SF. Nick has performed most regularly with the site-specific theater company We Player and improvised one-act variety shows with a Cirque Oui Et for two years at San Francisco’s Stage Werx Theatre.

Gherkin Picklewater –
Gherkin Picklewater moved to San Francisco in 2005 to pursue his passion for clown and immersed himself in the vibrant world of circus and live performance immediately. As an actor, clown, and improviser, Gherkin performs in both comedic and dramatic capacities, bringing his unique blend of energy, humor, and emotional depth to every project. His work is marked by physical comedy, a commitment to emotional vulnerability, and purple suits
with matching tennis shoes.
