Between Two Worlds (I Wasn’t Cancelled… Just Confused)

A Raw, Award-Winning ASL Solo Show by TL Forsberg Comes to Hollywood Fringe

Hollywood, CA — June 2026 — Internationally celebrated hard-of-hearing artist TL Forsberg brings her critically acclaimed solo show Between Two Worlds to Hollywood Fringe this June for a limited run.

Once embraced by the Deaf community as “The Deaf Lady Gaga,” Forsberg became a bold and visible force—until a choice shifted everything. When she used her speaking voice in performance, she faced cultural backlash and was cancelled. Between Two Worlds is her direct response.

This powerful 60-minute solo show follows Forsberg as she unpacks the cost of living between identities—never fully claimed, never fully released. Moving through fame, erasure, and self-definition, she confronts a stark question: who gets to exist—and who gets erased?

Guided by a non-binary/trans figure who pushes her to claim every part of herself, and accompanied by an exiled disabled part that holds the weight of internalised shame, Forsberg steps into a deeply personal exploration of identity, belonging, and power.

Performed in both ASL and spoken voice, and driven by Forsberg’s original rock music, the show is raw, interactive, and immediate.

Following multiple sold-out runs, Between Two Worlds continues to tour as both performance and community engagement—creating space for conversation around the need for radical inclusion of diverse and hybrid identities within d/Deaf culture.

Forsberg’s work has toured more than 40 festivals worldwide. Her solo shows have earned five “Best of Fest” honours, Producer’s Encore Awards, a Solo Splash Award, the Hollywood Fringe Diversity Scholarship, a Top of the Fringe nomination, the Pearl Award for innovation in Deaf culture, and the LAWTF Rainbow Award for radical inclusion in d/Deaf theatre.

She has appeared in See What I’m Saying: The Deaf Entertainers Documentary, Switched at Birth, and VH1’s SuperGroup, and has opened for Alanis Morissette. A graduate of the George Brown Theatre School, she has also composed for Deaf festivals globally, including writing the theme song for Miss Deaf International.

Critics describe her as “a master at unfolding societal taboos” (NoHo Arts), and audiences call the show “a truly spectacular experience… one that stays with you long after the lights go down.”
