Extinction Burst
Things get worse before they get a whole lot worse…

Plays at The Actors Company – June 7, 11, 14, 18, 25
[LOS ANGELES, CA]
Extinction Burst: a temporary increase in the intensity, frequency, or duration of a behavior, often occurring when that behavior is no longer reinforced.
Follow The Average (straight white) American Man as he desperately searches for truth in the perilous land he loves. Watch as he grapples with holy fools, grave robbers, snake oil salesmen, capitalism’s Final Boss, and a therapist.
“Extinction Burst” dismantles the fragile, Buffalo-wing-sauce-streaked scaffolding of the male American ego, one delusion at a time. Each character captures the absurdity of the final, flailing tantrums of the patriarchy as it thrashes against a world that no longer needs its permission. This show fully displays the arrogance, ignorance, and hyper-specific stupidity that men release into the world on a daily basis. This is without a doubt my biggest creative endeavor. I’ve always stuck close to the classic sketch comedy format or smaller one-off projects. Extinction Burst really threw me into newer, deeper waters. It’s packed with jokes but it’s also a collage of my experiences, social commentary, apologies, lessons learned, and hopes for the world. I can’t wait for you to see it.
