Slumber Party
SLUMBER PARTY
The world premiere ensemble show written and directed by Louisa Brott opens with a press preview on Tuesday, June 9th at The Broadwater Second Stage in Hollywood as part of this year’s HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL. Slumber Party features original music by The Apartment Boys as the magnanimous voices of Cute and Confused.
Description:
Best friends Nina, Cleo, and Sophie have been looking forward to this Slumber Party for months. Only problem? A culty incident related to their favorite boy band, Cute and Confused, left them reeling last week and they’ve been avoiding each other ever since.
Despite angsty pleas to their parents, the sleepover, centered around the 12-hour Cute and Confused Radio-A-Thon, will go on.
With their stomachs in knots, and an unspoken dread filling Nina’s bedroom, the trio must face each other, each filled with their own questions.
The main question:
How far will you go to get your favorite boy band member to fall in love with you?
The other question?
Well that remains a secret between two members of this trio. For now.

Most recently, Louisa was the Technical Director during last year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival for a reality TV re-imagination of “Much Ado About Nothing” at the Zephyr Theatre.
“Bold concept, fantastic execution from start to finish! I had such a blast watching this show. The clarity of the storytelling made the language as accessible as if it were written today. Every element — from the terrific acting and directing to the gorgeous costumes, lights, sound, and video feed — came together flawlessly to make the story as easy to follow along as it was fun to watch. Great job paring it down to 75 minutes without feeling like we lost any important bits of the story.” – Michelle Takla, verified reviewer
“The performances were fantastic, as someone who only has a loose grip of Shakespeare’s language style, the cast’s skillful and passionate inflection, facial expressions, and passion assisted the script in conveying their message wonderfully. The music kept the show lighthearted and grounded as being a modern telling of the source material. The use of camera work in the show gave room for many great comedic moments and offered unique perspectives of certain characters. I saw the show twice and overall, I had a great deal of fun with it!” – Doc Altemose, verified reviewer
“Excellent performances, a great take on a classic that I’d highly recommend to fans and nonfans of Shakespeare. The production design was also a standout!” – William Barrios, verified reviewer
