Los Angeles, CA,— Born the gay son of a baseball umpire, soccer coach, and referee, Ben Fisher (New York Comedy Festival; SF Sketchfest) invites audiences into the batter’s box with humor and storytelling to unpack a lifetime of expectations, contradictions, and emotional curve balls as he reflects on coming of age in an Italian-Irish American home fixated on masculinity. Blending stand-up with intimate narrative, he tackles themes of grief and loss, family, and self-discovery with sharp wit and vulnerability. The result is a comedy experience that resonates for anyone who’s ever felt a little out of position.
Ball Boy will be presented for five performances this June as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Audiences will witness the evolution of an emerging comedic voice pushing the boundaries of the form and interrogating our cultural rules for “being a man.”
