Imagine logging into your social media and seeing yourself in a VERY compromising position that you were never in. And it’s gone viral… Currently 96 to 98% of all deepfakes online are of non-consensual intimate images. Each one of these victims is a human being, whose life has been disrupted in ways that most people can’t fathom. We of course do need freedom of speech- it’s critical to a democracy. So where do we draw the line? This play traces that boundary, looks at the issue, and turns it on its side. And it couldn’t be more timely, with new federal legislation called The Take it Down Act, which has been years in the making, and yet victims are still suffering from online harassment. Justice follows a very relatable woman whose life is intimately intertwined with both sides of this issue.
Justice was in the Fertile Ground Festival, and will be in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, 2026.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Tiffany Esteb is an actress and writer, who has done many theater productions, and indie films, including Now, Forager, and Second Chance, that have won awards in international film festivals. She was harassed herself online for two years, over 10 years ago. She then worked as a domestic violence victim advocate in New York City police stations, helping women attempt to navigate the legal system. This play is a truthful account of many women’s stories, but it is also a study of how freedom of speech functions in our modern tech facilitated world.
