Lost Moon Radio is Back for "Best of the Fringe"
LOS ANGELES, July 25, 2011 – Fresh off its critically acclaimed run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, LA-based comedy group LOST MOON RADIO joins “Best of the Fringe” to remount Episode 10, August 11-12 at ArtWorks Theatre. Recipient of the LA Weekly’s “2011 Hollywood Fringe Award” and the Hollywood Fringe Festival’s “Best of Comedy” award, LOST MOON RADIO offers audiences an evening of original comedy and music hailed as “one of the most theatrically satisfying and stimulating events of the year” by Stage and Cinema’s Tony Frankel. “This sterling company is not at the Fringe to find their footing – they’re here to show everyone else how perfection can be accomplished.”
LOST MOON RADIO is an ongoing live comedy and music show that mixes original songs, sketches, and reflections on the modern age. At each “episode,” audiences watch iconoclastic disc jockey Jupiter Jack spin tracks on his late-night rock ’n roll radio show; but when Jack “plays” a record what we actually see are sketches and songs performed live by onstage actors and a five-piece band. Originally staged at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival, LOST MOON RADIO’s Episode 10 follows Jack as he explores the theme of “Travel and Journeys.” While Jack digs into all the ways we get from here to there and back again, audiences enjoy an evening of smart, exuberant, and lovingly crafted comedy.
LOST MOON RADIO features actors Ryan Harrison, Martha Marion, Dan Mahoney, Jen Burton, Frank Smith, and Dan Oster, as well as musicians Rich Ramberg, Michael Wells, Dylan Ris, Jasmin Guevara and Brenton Kossak. Directed by Lauren Ludwig. Produced by Monica Miklas. Lighting Design by Brandon Baruch. Set Design by Erin Shaver. Property Design by Nell Rutledge-Leverenz. Costume Design by Emily Harrison. Graphic Design by Lindsay Hollinger.
Company members’ writing and performance credits include Comedy Central, The Daily Show, MAD TV, American Dad, the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, Boom Chicago, The Groundlings, The People’s Improv Theater, Mortified, Dave Eggers’ Wholphin, the Andy Summers Band, Orange County Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, IndieCade, Striking Viking Story Pirates, Musical Theatre Los Angeles, and needtheater.
