Studio C Artists is proud to present MAN UP – a powerful one act following Derek Ringold’s journey from boyhood to manhood. Faced with challenge after challenge in his personal and professional life, Derek starts to question his faith, and soon realizes that he must ‘man up’ in order to succeed. His avoidance of his adversities comes with late night partying, drinking, smoking weed, and hooking up in order to escape. But the pressure to transition from boy to man mounts – leaving him the choice to either mature or continue with his childish ways, however enjoyable they may be. Told through monologues and dance, MAN UP illustrates the important theme of becoming an adult, amidst the overwhelming temptation to stay a gay party boy forever.
