"Top of Fringe" Lost Moon Radio Returns with a Glam Rock Children’s Television Odyssey
LOS ANGELES, May 24, 2013 – Named “Top of the Fringe” and “Best of Comedy” at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival, LOST MOON RADIO returns to the Fringe with six performances of ROGER WODEHOUSE’S ANDROGYMNASIUM at the Fringe Mainstage at Open Fist Theatre from June 8-29.
ROGER WODEHOUSES’S ANDROGYMNASIUM is a glitter-laden adventure into the world of ‘70’s glam rock icon Roger Wodehouse. When forward-thinking BBC executives asked Roger to do a children’s television show in 1975, he had only two questions. One: Would he be allowed to talk openly about his fluid sexuality? Two: Would there be animal guests? The BBC said yes to both and he agreed to do the show, giving birth to the wildly ambitious episode of television that Fringe audiences will see performed onstage. Along with his hard-rocking band and a slew of hapless guests, Roger educates, entertains, and expands the minds of his audiences, adults and children alike, in this completely original musical-comedy-glam-rock-children’s-television-odyssey.
In addition to its Fringe awards, LOST MOON RADIO has garnered a “GO” from LA Weekly and the praise, “Brilliantly weird” (Jason Rohrer, Stage and Cinema), and “Not to be missed” (Jenny Lower, LA Weekly). ROGER WODEHOUSE’S ANDROGYMNASIUM is directed by Lauren Ludwig and produced by Monica Miklas. The show features actors Frank Smith, Ryan Harrison, and Lauren Flans, as well as musicians Rich Ramberg, Michael Wells, Dylan Ris, and Brenton Kossak. LOST MOON RADIO is co-written by Ryan Harrison and Frank Smith with music by Dylan Ris. Lighting design by Brandon Baruch, set design by Tim Kuehn, costume design by Rachel Weir, sound design by Dave McKeever, and stage management by Gianna Masi.
