This show is absolutely in my top pick of shows being offered at this years Fringe. It will have you engaged and into the story from the start. I found myself completely rooting for the characters and really hoping they can just live happily ever after! A beautiful and touching piece that takes you along for a ride that you know probably can't end well! ... full review

I don't even know what to say about this except go see it. Never in my life have I ever experienced this kind of deep emotional connection to a piece of theater. The ensemble work is gorgeous; the acting deep and heartfelt and sublime. Lee's writing is beautiful and truthful, and all I can say is go see it. Go see it.... full review

Wow... just... wow. A heart-wrenching high-stakes relationship drama with a sick twist at the end that hits you like a knife to your gut. Boy oh boy I did not see that ending coming. I should have, but I didn't. I audibly gasped. This one's going to stick with me for a while. Don't miss it. ... full review

Incredible writing and incredible acting are a solid one, two in this Knockout of a show! A true drama, with none of the soap opera, the actors transport you into their world, making you care deeply about their plight. Be sure to pack some tissues for this tear jerker.... full review

Love Is. Wow, what an incredible, profoundly touching show. not only was the script excellently written, the performance was well cast, with convincing performers who really brought the story to life in a relatable, vivid way. I was enthralled from he first scene. This show captures the essence of love, heartache, vulnerability, and loss. My chest tightened and I couldn't help but cry right along with the players onstage who presented the real, raw, living expressions of grief, shock, and heartbreak. An incredibly honest, gut-wrenching show. ... full review

I am so incredibly blown away by Lee's show Love Is. If anyone has ever been in an intimate relationship with overwhelming depth and passion they will get this show. The gripping reality and intensity the cast displays onstage is raw, honest, and real. So real it wraps around your heart and rips it right out of your chest while tears can't help but well in your eyes. Brilliant.... full review

Writer / Director / Actor Lee Turnbull is a triple threat at this year's Festival and his play Love Is. delivers! This tight, well rounded, heart breaking piece packs a punch and is firing at all ends. A solid cast, a beautiful script, this is what the Hollywood Fringe Festival is all about... gripping, no-holds-barred, live theatre! GO!... full review

Even though I haven't seen even half the Fringe shows at this point, I can easily say this has got to be the worst. Well at least at the very bottom. These reviews had to have been written by friends. Sorry, but this was the epitome of bad theatre (and why Fringe needs to look at show quality before allowing companies to partake, somehow...if that is even possible). We knew we were in trouble when we saw it was written and directed bu the same dude. That is never a good idea in theatre. I don't think I've ever seen that be completely successful ever. The writer thinks everything is SO IMPORTANT that he directs it that way. The levels (of screaming and crying) were non-stop painful. THEN I notice the female lead calling the male lead... full review

It must not be easy to work under such a grand title as “Love Is.” You feel like someone’s about to sit you down and tell you once-and-for-all the answer to humankind’s greatest mystery. But Lee Turnbull’s earnest portrayal of a modern relationship quickly dismisses any ostentation and asserts that none of us know exactly what love is. Turnbull engages the audience by complimenting scenes of banality with scenes of explosive emotion. We watch as married couple Lee and Emily start off by laughing and chatting over drinks with their inner-circle of 20-something friends. They appear so happy and complacent with their lives it almost makes you sick. But the cast’s performances are consistently natural and extremely relatable, even when the... full review
