It's been seventy-six years since "Waiting For Lefty" premiered. Inspired by the NY Taxi Strike of 1934, Odets explored the ills of society at the time and use that platform to call for radical change. But in the time since then, what's actually changed? Have things gotten better for us, or worse?

Inspired by the true story of a slave who fled. Upon capture, she kills her child rather than return it to slavery. She recounts the past, as water goddess Yemoja and the ancestors seek to remind her, and all those with African roots of their royal heritage, courage, and our shared bright futures
