High Energy

This is a comedy, loosely (and we mean loosely) based on the early life, and career of America's favorite son and national treasure, Tony Danza. The play explores the nature of the entertainment business and how far some some people are willing to go to achieve success in it.

This fast paced comedy is a mash up of Louisa May Alcott's classic, 'Little Women' and HBO's critically acclaimed 'Girls', delivering a smartly crafted and hilarious 50 minute show. New York Magazine's approval matrix pegged it as "High Brow and Brilliant" and Gothamist calls it "Hysterical."

Part cautionary tale, part irreverent skewering of Showbiz, Richard Tanner's uproarious, multi-media chronicle of the highs & lows, ups & downs, and the gap between ambition & the reality of being of an "unsteadily working actor," is told with wit, compassion, and a dollop of audience participation.
