What I liked

It’s an incredible performance that has our attention from the moment the Actor takes the stage. We never doubt her intention, her commitment and her honesty about her wants and about her anger.
It’s a well produced piece. The video design works and is effective in forwarding the action and the story.

What I didn't like

I don’t ever see our character feel remorse or actually accept responsibility for her choices and her part in it all after engaging in some seriously sociopathic and criminal behaviors.

My overall impression

This show was difficult for me and I suppose to a certain extent as a man, it’s supposed to be. THIS SHOW DESERVES BETTER ATTENDANCE than what they had the night I saw it.

As for the play, I think at its heart this show is about the line between sexual violence and consent and wanting to start a conversation and come to some degree of understanding in that, but I also think it’s about power. Sex as a tool. In this play the fucking rotten excuses for men that exist in this characters world of transactional sex think they have the power but they don’t. They have the power to mark her, shun her, abuse her, hurt her, degrade her, deny her request to stop but in the end they are laid low. She has the power and she is ruthless in her revenge.

This is an angry work and I can feel the rage underneath the complacency. Our actor portrays a woman sexualized, by these men who become her trade, A character full of want and lacking in self esteem and in the end we don’t like the person that she has become very much and I wonder if she likes herself. It’s a difficult character and in the end I think it’s a very sad play. We are listening, we may not like what we hear but we can’t take our eyes off the car wreck of a life our actor is portraying. I was left a bit disassociated and sad from the experience, but again maybe this play is not for me either as an ally or a mark.
