Not to put Ian in a box but he’s a highly skilled Mime. It shows not only in his physical prowess but also in his visual story telling and most of all in his visual metaphors. He creates a poetry that is surprising and satisfying. His prop, a wooden staff, is used for some world class bits but when attached to a paint brush creates a precise metaphor for his place in the family trade. Farley is a well rounded and dynamic performer in the style of a true commedia player. Beware: He will make you cry!
What I didn't like
There were some little hiccups with the shadow puppetry setup here and there which will undoubtedly iron themselves out.
My overall impression
Ian Farley turns in stunning tour de force show. Uninvisible is the battle cry of a true clown. The show is a theatrical homage to his lineage as a military brat discovering his voice and place as an artist. There are many well crafted and truly inspired audience interactive elements. I’d be lying if I didnt tell you that I wish I came up with this bit Ian does with his hand. Pure perfection from an exceptional devisor.
