Disappointed. I enjoy history and enjoy theatre pieces based on historical figures and events. I knew of this show from previous fringe festivals in years past but had never had the opportunity to see it. I expected more from a show that had been produced as many times as it had. This did not feel like a production from a professional actor in Los Angeles. It felt like a roadside attraction that was apart of a small museum you visit on a 5th grade field trip. The actor had to refer to his script on stage. You could see it taped in his Bible. It’s insulting. I was sitting in the second row and could barely hear at times. I felt my time had been wasted and the money spent had not been honored or appreciated. ... full review

The Sky Pool is a breathtaking engineering feat that has caught the attention of people all over the world. Suspended 115 feet in the air, this transparent swimming pool stretches between two residential buildings in London's Nine Elms district. The pool is 82 feet long, 16 feet wide, and 10 feet deep, giving swimmers the sensation of floating in the sky above the city. But the question on everyone's mind is, is the Sky Pool open to the public? Unfortunately, learn this here now... full review

What a joy it is to hear our language constructed with such deft linguistic skill and wit, and the ideas—the basic principles of being a good people—which should have been and should be the driving concept of our founding and continual existence as a nation, put down in such a pleasant hour. Kearney makes it seem so easy. As Ingersoll, he keeps strict adherence to the typical 19th century orator’s presentational style. That doesn't mean it is easy because the thoughts are deep, and the intentions behind them, as often is necessary when critiquing society for “change” sake, are cutting, yet inspiring. Kearney has culled together highlights of Ingersoll's common sense and hopeful thinking and delivers them with a warm, frankly loving, storytel... full review

Kearney gives a tour de force. He brings a 19th-century man of letters back to life in the modern-day. The acting and writing are spectacular. The message of a scholar from an earlier day could not more relevant in the current day. Irrespective of your personal views, do yourself a favor and watch Ernest Kearney acting keep you on the edge of your seat. It is rare that the writing, directing, and acting come together with such breathtaking success. However, it is even more rare that all of these roles are played by the same irresistible talent. Hats off to Ernest Kearney whose writing, acting, and directing have clearly reached their pinnacle best. Oh, by the way, his character might have some meaningful, humorous, and poignant messag... full review

The Great Satan Speaks brought the spirit of Robert Ingersoll to the wise words he left for us. With a wink that brings you in and a tremble in his voice that speaks to a deep reverence for the subject and the message Ernest Kearney delivers a moving evening with the American philosopher Robert G Ingersoll. The writer/performer is thoughtful in his attempts to illustrate not only Ingersoll's ability to cleverly turn a phrase but also why the great satan came to the progressive conclusions he did. You get the impression that while Ingersoll could easily have been one of the great manipulative grifters but for his own commitment to the words written by Shakespeare. "To thine own self be true" ... full review

I originally saw this show in 2018, and it was great then, and this new iteration, like a fine wine, have only gotten better with time.... full review

I was embarrassed for the performer. Ernest, God love him, is not an actor. This whole thing felt like a bad 8th grade report where you dress up like the character that you've researched and stand in front of the class and recite. "My name is...I was born..." The fact that this is the fourth reiteration of this show is unbelievable to me. I can't imagine how lousy the first three must have been. This is a rough draft at best. I wanted to like this show. Ernest seems like a nice fella. I have seen him at plays and he has reviewed shows for my company. And while I appreciate him partaking in the theatre community, he has no business on a stage. None whatsoever. This really doesn't bode well for his standing with me as a critic. Serious... full review

I remembered enjoying the first production of Ingersoll several years ago, and I was not disappointed with this version! I was reminded of “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” if that animatronic performance was more lively, fun, tongue-in-cheek, and have far less use of the word God. But both firmly have the American flag waving behind them. I’m so glad Ernest introduced me to Robert Ingersoll. I’m sure it helps that I share his views, but the way they are expressed in this production are clear enough and passionate enough that even ardent believers should come away with understanding of a different point of view ... full review
