What I liked
Everything. I truly respect and appreciate how open Rebecca was. To share your story with an audience, good and bad, highs and lows, is not easy. She claimed the space with such confidence leaving me laughing to the point I couldn’t breathe and crying to the point my mascara was melting. The way she deconstructs outdated societal views on gender and sexuality via her own story is powerful. THIS IS NOT A SHOW TO BE MISSED.
Also the music slaps. This needs to be on Broadway.
What I didn't like
The projections need to be tightened a bit. A few cues were off. But the acting and story was so good that it did not matter. Easily fixed with more time on tech day and budget. Conceptually the projections were an amazing addition though. Creatively adding to Rebecca’s psyche and internal battles in a way that was engaging.
My overall impression
Wow. Days later and I am still processing. Rebecca is a powerhouse. She had us hooked from lights up to lights down. Never have I cried so hard and laughed so hard in one sitting.
