What I liked

I was especially struck by the embodiment of the little girl who went through the initial traumatic event, and the women of subsequent ages who still reflected that same defeated little girl. This little girl’s defeatedness and shame felt so very familiar to me, even though our stories are so different. Because I connected so closely with the young Kamakshi, I could also celebrate the transformation into the powerful woman Kamakshi has become, as she stood before us telling and embodying her story from so many perspectives within the prism of her being. Well done, Kamakshi, and thank you.

What I didn't like

I look forward to seeing a performance where you are reintegrated into one Kamakshi, and can sing songs from the Ashram for us. Those were my favorite of the songs.
The music was helpful for the songs, so maybe consider having more music for more of the songs.

My overall impression

In Resiliant AF, Kamakshi Hart courageously demonstrates for us the impact of trauma and the hope of resilience to help lift us above the damages of traumatic abuse.
She embodies caricatures of internalized voices—both those that have plagued her and also those who have sustained her—effectively portraying the very real lived experience of PTSD and the Herculean feat to survive.
Ultimately, this is a celebration of overcoming the odds and reclaiming the power that is rightfully hers.
