Pure unadulterated highest quality vastly entertaining, brilliantly biting theater. Everything was extraordinary: The writing (not surprised to learn that Nicky Silver is Troy Deutsch’s friend and mentor); the direction (with a name like Tinks Lovelace, she must succeed or fail spectacularly — she succeeds) and the theatrical monster that is Kristina Mueller, who throws the whole shebang around her like stardust dancing through the hour with such skillful abandon that time whistles by. Bravo!... full review

This show was moving and absurd, hilarious and terrifying - all in the way that only really good, challenging art can be. It was a bold look at the state of politics in a way that felt fresh, yet primal. I was grateful for the reminder of where the instincts to protect our own comes from and how it plays out in the world today.... full review

This wild but simultaneously grounded show gives us a unique and sharp look at the origin of a demagogue and what leaders say about ourselves and those around him/her. Beautifully and masterfully portrayed by Kristina Mueller this show will have you hooked from A to B as it takes you to it's thrilling and shocking conclusion. Well directed by Tinks Lovelace and written with poetically sharp wit by Troy Deutsch ... full review

A primally urgent and wildly intelligent play for our moment. Troy Deutsch's "Orangutan" could have easily found itself trapped in the echo chamber of a one-joke premise. Instead, it resounds with the poisonously barbed comedy of Edward St. Aubyn's Patrick Melrose novels and the savage, philosophical gymnastics of Edward Albee. Horror, humor and rage -- a wild ride reminiscent of Ellen Burstyn's Sara Goldfarb in "Requiem for a Dream" -- brought to vivid life by Kristina Mueller's electric performance and Tinks Lovelace's sharp direction. "Orangutan" finds empathy within the nightmare. This is its staying power. ... full review

A masterpiece. The most incredible experience I’ve had in a theater, hands down. Watching this play is like starting a movie thinking it’s a dark comedy and then you get this tingling sensation in your stomach like this might be a David Lynch film but then your heart starts pounding because you realize this isn’t David Lynch, this isn’t a movie at all. You’re in a dream, the kind you wake up from and then quickly shut your eyes, desperate to fall back into. The kind where, even though you know it was a dream, the emotions you felt are real and stick with you. The kind that if you tried to explain it to a friend, or write a review about it, you quickly realize it’s impossible to put into words. It can only be experienced. Thankfully this is a... full review
