Kelly Mullis is effervescent as Marilyn Monroe!!, & also then brings the story behind her sorrow, & the meaning of her life into the light, so the audience can understand what really made her tick... Kelly captures all of the nuances of Marilyn: her voice, her movements, the way she sang to a "T"! (LOVED that especially!), but it goes even deeper than this.. We get a chance to glimpse into the tragedy of what happened to Marilyn, & possibly why.. this is the meat of what I really liked about the show, & her performance: how it began, & then where it went to by the end! It's heart-breaking to know what she endured in her life vs. how everyone saw her as an icon. You truly FEEL empathy for her & her life! This was a Lovely exploration of Mar... full review

Kelly Mullis received a well-deserved extended standing ovation for this passion project she wrote and performed. This is what you call a performance! This delightful piece fires on all emotional cylinders. Kelly Mullis' MARILYN MONROE: THE LAST INTERVIEW is on par with Spaulding Gray's SWIMMING TO CAMBODIA and John Leguizamo's GHETTO CLOWN. I don't want to say more, because Fringe audiences need to experience it—not read about it.... full review

Kelly Mullis treated me to a beautiful performance that captured the essence of Marilyn without impersonation or caricature. She transformed into Norma Jean and let me in on several stories about her life that I never knew with passion and vulnerability. I know that there is a successful future for this show. I recommend for anyone interested in seeing powerful solo theater to put this one at the top of their list.... full review

Kelly allows a look into Marilyn that reflects not only the icon but the damaged, lonely and pained Norma Jean. It does not take a dark turn, which allows you to continue to love Marilyn and feel for the vulnerability and pain of Norma Jean. I got a last minute ticket, expecting to be under-whelmed and came away a big fan of Kelly's with a more compassionate feel and understanding of Marilyn.... full review

Ms. Mullen does a stellar job of bringing Marylin back to life - with all her charm and foibles and we can't help but fall in love with her. A totally enjoyable hour of intrigue, voyeurism and excellent singing to boot. Definitely one of my Fringe 2018 favorites! ... full review

A really wonderful study of Marilyn. Kelly's performance is fully committed and she transforms from the ditzy, blonde-bombshell to a real woman with real, relate-able problems. She takes us on a full journey that was just a pleasure to enjoy and fascinating to imagine! ... full review

Marilyn Monroe: The Last Interview offers much more than the title might indicate, that being perhaps something along the line of final thoughts or stories confined to the late era of Monroe’s all-too-brief career and life. But the interview is merely the open window for Mullis to walk the audience through Monroe’s background all the way to childhood and early work through to her untimely death in a marvelously interwoven and researched piece of writing. I mention the writing first because Mullis is so charming, disarming, and spontaneous as Monroe, that one almost forgets it’s a written, historical piece on stage. Beyond the wispy voice, the super-human blend of strength and vulnerability, and the slowly-getting-tipsy effect of pills and al... full review
