What I liked

Cherita Armstrong is an amazing performer! Characters are strong and clear. Her performance is solid and her singing is marvelous. Now this is not a musical but rather a woman singing songs attached to the scenes. The power and perfect timing of the songs to go with the scenes is powerful. Ms. Armstrong connects so strongly that I defy any of you not to be as moved as she is when she sings a spiritual in the middle. She lets the emotion come over her and accepts it without indulging in it. When it finishes she takes time to get a handkerchief out and gently wipe her eyes. NO over indulgence here. Wow.

What I didn't like

I think a song at the top would help ground the piece. Just blown away by her singing and with a song ending it , it would be a nice bookend. Don’t be afraid of using the stage more so that the bit with being trapped more would hit harder. Being confined like that is horrific and then the ending is even more powerful. I would like the bit about having her children be a bit longer…it went by a bit too fast. I think there is a great show here!!!

My overall impression

What a great show….it might be about being trapped buy you got legs on this one…I hope you run with this for quite some time Cherita! I don’t like the rating system. I think the show is VERY GOOD!
