Hilarious, bold, and poignant, Herpes is a fascinating journey that provides a public glimpse into the private world of the performer that not only touches the entertainment on the surface, but digs down to provide the humanity and emotional baggage as well to tell a story that, while visual and fast-paced on the outside, is full of compassion, heartbreak, and raw truth on the inside....

When I was handed a bright pink poncho and a condom---branded with the show name---along with the program featuring a photo of the star dressed as a giant, fluffy herpes lesion, I immediately thought "ahhhh, I'm at the Fringe."
I use the word "branded" intentionally because that's how Cherise Pascual (aka "Cherry Cola") the high-octane star and writer of this solo show felt after being diagnosed with herpes. She tells her story with courage and laughter and we take the journey from self-hate to self-love with her. I won't tell you what the poncho is for, you'll have to see the show for yourself....

This is a show not to be missed. It's funny, brave, heartfelt, and a perfect showcase for the enormous talent that resides in its star and playwright, Cherise Pascual. I hope the 2017 Hollywood Fringe is only the beginning of its life on the stage. It's about time herpes came out of the closet, because it's here to stay. Thanks to Cherise for shining a light on this topic and reminding us that it's not what happens to us that's important, but how we respond to it. ...

LOVED it! I'm still singing some of the songs she sang in my head 2 days later! Cherise takes a topic that many folks may be uncomfortable with and throws it all on the table. KUDOS Cherise for helping f*ck the stigma and spreading the LOVE! Truly a must see!...

This is probably the most immersive solo piece I've ever attended! I had seen the shows debut months ago, and it was already amazing but Cherry Cola has stepped up her game. I want to highlight things, but I also don't want to give away all of the surprises! You'll definitely catch some feelings- belly laughs, shock at times, and maybe even a case of the feels. It's probably nothing 10 pounds of coke cant solve... speaking of immersive, not only does Cherise leave her whole heart on that stage, she leaves behind a whole trail of white powder, water, and a few other things she tosses at the audience from time to time. Herpes isn't a play- it's an experience. Brave, funny, and not to be missed. ...

I just sat through this show with a big smile on my face. Cherry's humor, honesty, and unstoppable spirit are infectious. As are her hilarious spoof renditions of songs we all know and love--and she has a gorgeous voice. This show is a delight....
