Girl Band in the Men's Room

GO!!! Look, I've been in alot of Men's rooms. This was by far the most entertaining time I've ever had in one. In a set that one imagines smelling like poop and foot comes a short, but poignant tale of a crossroads for four rocker girls and the struggles that each one grips with. Walking on a web of guitar strings and power chords these girls will entertain anyone in the music scene from AABottom to ZZTop. Kurt Cobain is not dead! He lives on in plays like this and with bands like the Red Hot Stone Pearl Temple Jam Pilots! At least one of these girls would agree with me, I think. Glad I got a chance to see these four wonderful actresses in their element. Four very well-realized characters in a very well written play about the 'price of fame'. Hope to see this play have a life beyond the Fringe.... full review

I was at the preview of Girl Band last night, and it was amazing! The intimate setting really allows the audience to feel like part of the action. These ladies (women?) brought a wide variety of emotions to the table, and there were even fun accents! I don't want to ruin the plot, as the show is 40 minutes long. (Also, the title tells you who/where, so you can see it to learn the why/how/when.) If you want a smart, grungy, all-chick performance, SEE THIS! It will not disappoint!... full review

Girls Band in the Men's Room is full of sharp images that display a well executed story about the challenges of art vs. business and how a group of female friends and artists react to impending success. The acting is very tight with the ladies living moment to moment for almost all of their journey, which more then makes up for the minor shortfalls of the script. An excellent show for music and theater lovers alike, I recommend going to see this Fringe show.... full review

What a fun show!! You must go see it! These 4 super talented ladies instantly take you back to a time of grunge and flannel...ahh the good-old-days! Set in a men's bathroom and moments before performing, the band must decide the future of their group. As women, they are caught between fighting to keep their integrity or taking the "easy" way out. Each member of the band is completely different and brings a different side to the argument, but they each share a deep passion for their music. What a pleasure to see such great character work and specificity on stage. Seriously...GO! You will not be disappointed! ... full review

After seeing Girl Band I was depressed to think that this band doesn't actually exist! Could this be the next revival? Angsty 90's alt-rock? The cast made me miss grunge fashion so much I tore holes in the knees of my pants while I was watching! Girl Band was fun but also produced & written in a way that makes you feel seriously toward the choices the characters are faced with. A play about artistic integrity done with a lot of artistic integrity. I am going to see it again. Maybe 2 more times. Depends on my work schedule.... full review

The show is fantastic. The talented cast stirred my emotions and keep me excited and interested for 40+ min. I was surprised at how often they made me laugh. I would see this show again and again. Great job! ... full review

Girl Band in the Mens room took me back to the 90s but not just for the fun of it. It is also a very touching story of four band mates on the verge of the big break only to realize their dreams and motivations aren't as similar as they thought. This show displays the power women in a mans world and what lengths some will go to get what they want. An impressive show all around.... full review

It was refreshing to see a topic and point of view not often depicted on the stage. With a tight and compelling script, minimal set and authentic costumes, the show turns its focus to the relationships between four young musicians struggling to hold on to their spotted dreams while staying true to themselves and to each other. I enjoyed the smart dialog and direction. The performance resonated with me deeply. While I can't speak from a musician's point of view, the words of the play felt real enough to inspire me as a fiction writer to consider placing my usual characters and conflicts on the stage for a change. Thank you to a talented cast for the creative spark!... full review
