What a mind trip of a show! An incredible look at the demons that haunt (and help) us all. I love the framing device for this show and some of the writing is just beautiful, as is the use of lighting and projections to evoke specific moods. There are also some wonderful performances in this production. Definitely a show that will stick with me for a while. Well done everyone!... full review

I went into "Inside the Mind of Me" not knowing what to expect, and ended up absolutely adoring it. It delves into some heady subjects - fear, depression, hope, love, loss, hurt - but despite this it's a play which elicited a variety of reactions. I hate it when a review essentially boils down to "I laughed, I cried," but I absolutely did. There are times when this play is lighthearted and whimsical, times when it's outright hilarious, and times when it tugs at the heartstrings. The shift in tone never feels inconsistent or misplaced, and it's a testament to the cast and to the director that the play is able to shift through so many different moods while still retaining the same core at the heart of it. I was talking to friends after ... full review

inside the mind of me was definitely an interesting show. Somebody that I was with related it to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, mostly in regards to how the timeline works. The general story is that there is a guy, named Me, who is in a coma trying to decide if he should wake up or move on. The story jumps back in time to different parts of his childhood as well as some incidents right before his suicide attempt (which caused his coma). All parts are expertly played, most notably the roles of Angel, Circus, and Me, Who made it feel like these parts were written directly for them. Although there is a lot of jumping in the timeline, all of the lighting helps flow seamlessly from one point in time to the next. I never had any issues try... full review

As a former student of drama at a university, I'm used to people in crazy costumes rolling on stage from the audience and then crying softly into my hands as I realize this is where my tuition went. Inside the Mind of Me is nothing like that. It tells its story in sliced up remembrances and I understood every moment. I would go see it if I were you. It's funny and sexy and sad and fucked up and everything I look for when I watch a show about a guy in a coma with a clown-devil and an Egyptian angel for friends.... full review

I really like In the Mind of Me. Complicated, but engaging and very well acted. A really good show and showcase of the acting talents of the cast. If this is the creative lineup to expect at Hollywood Fringe, I am looking forward to see what they have coming up next.... full review

There were a lot of interesting elements, including how they personified death and having the empty bed represent "Me", the man in the coma. And all of the performances were good, with a few stand-outs who really brought things to a high emotional level. However, the writing sometimes felt heavy-handed and generic, particularly when depicting the abuse that Me had suffered. Some of the flashbacks simply showed us moments we already knew had happened without adding any new details. The play could have been shorter had some of these been removed. It also really took me out of it when, during when of the most powerful moments, one of the actors says they are at the Fringe Festival. This could totally work for a comedy, or even a funny mom... full review

Writer/Director Wade F. Wilson brings his vision to fruition in an unwavering manner via this very well written and executed play. It is imperative to understand the style of storytelling as this not commonly written or brought to the stage. "Theater of the Absurd"- Heightened people in abstract situations. Using Shakespeare's reference of "Holding the mirror up to nature" we find the mirror at an extreme angle and even distorted. All dress, costume, and behavior is heightened. Characters come in and out from out of nowhere. The story can be disjointed and the author's intention is to make the audience think. A suicide attempt that leaves the character (ME)in a coma dealing with whether to live or die presenting life's societal ills of a... full review

The review of "Inside the Mind of Me" has taken me longer than expected to write. It is hard to express how much I love this show. I want to write something objectively, but since I know the creator and did a staged reading of the show over a year ago my review will be subjective. I have been a long time fan of Wade Wilson. I loved every word of this show when I read the script for the first time so long ago. To see the completed transformation and all of the characters come to life was truly a privilege. "Inside the Mind of Me" takes place when he is in the hospital and "Me" starts a journey of self-discovery. Wade Wilson's script marries reality with fantasy to question the meaning of life. Me has to revisit his past to determine his futur... full review
