This hilarious half hour comedy will keep you laughing and enthralled from the opening second to the very end. The acting and directing is superb all around. Each character is fully realized (including the 4 characters played by the same actor) and the play moves like a rocket from crazy to insane to hysterical and back again. It's so bizarre, there's no way to describe what it's about, but that doesn't matter. Just get on the roller coaster and let it take you! Plus, there's free, delicious banana bread at every show.... full review

Yum! The absolute highest energy show you will see at The Fringe. Selah Victor is electric, the most polished and proper lunatic to ever hit the boards. The cast has a blast and so does the audience. Loved it!... full review

'Dentity Crisis is superb entertainment. If you are a Christopher Durang fan, you are in for a treat. Alexa Sacha-Lewin brings this zany gem to life after harboring a long desire to direct it. She has cast actors on top of their game, most notably Selah Victor as Edith Fromage (a whirlwind of fresh air and lipstick, great voice!) and Nick Podany who plays son/father/grandfather/count (this kid's got talent!!). Director Sacha-Lewin keeps the action taut, and the physical humor to a maximum. Run, don't walk to Asylum Theatre tomorrow for the last performance! - Kaye Kittrell, Actor/Director ... full review

Definitely a tight, fast-paced show performed by actors with very impressive skills. The problem I think may be in the story itself. There's a fine line between successful madcap absurdity and so much silliness that a show just doesn't work. Unfortunately, the show just didn't work for me.... full review

I have always wanted to see a Christopher Durang play, and this was, by far, the best introduction I could have had to his wacky, absurdist, over-the-top writing. The actors are fabulous across the board, and bring a delightful amount of energy, personality, and "play" spirit to this 30 minute piece. Alexa-Sascha Lewin's direction is perfect. I'm so glad I got to see it! ... full review

Christopher Durang is much awarded, and his 2013 Tony for Vanya and Sonja and Masha and Spike (starring his Yale colleague Sigourney Weaver, along with a sterling cast) represents a high point in what we might call his senior years. While the Tony-extolled play is certainly quirky, other of Durang’s work deviates even more starkly into the absurd. ‘dentity Crisis is one of those. Its production at the aptly named Theater Asylum in LA (part of the lively Hollywood Fringe Festival now in full swing) surely would please the playwright. A talented cast drives the play with a vigorous pace, making use of sharp verbal jab and nimble physical movement, leaving the audience smiling yet drained, even if the play is but a half hour long. We’re not ... full review

Multiple personality disorder, attempted suicide, sex reassignment surgery, incest, and abundant cleavage are just about the last things you’ll ever see at Hollywood’s Christian-based Actors Co-op, which is just one reason to catch the outrageously R-rated ‘Dentity Crisis at this year’s Hollywood Fringe, Christopher Durang’s 1978 one-act just happening to star a quartet of Co-op vets set free from the shackles of the duly-esteemed (but even at its most risqué never more than PG-13) troupe. ‘Dentity Crisis stars gorgeous Co-opper Selah Victor as curvy housewife Edith Fromage, self-proclaimed “inventor of cheese” and mother to sullen suicide-surviving teenaged daughter Jane (Harley McFarland), who’s understandably confused by Mom’s passiona... full review
