Morning Coffee

I walked into the theatre expecting to see a play. Instead, it feels like I accidentally walked in to someone's apartment and witnessed a real breakup. That's how good the performances, set design, and general ambiance was. Bravo.... full review

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring-Extended Ed. P. 1

As a man who has tried to watch the Lord of the Rings annually as a tradition, I think after seeing this, I don't need to anymore....at least not the first 30 minutes of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition. I loved this.... full review

Iphigenia in Splott

This is a powerful, powerful piece of theatre. Not to mention, maybe, one of the best performances of the entire Fringe this year. My hats off to the entire team of Iphigenia!... full review

Cadenza | Sci-fi Thriller

This play is the closest we'll get to an episode of Black Mirror in this years Fringe Festival. With themes challenging what might make a person evil, potential future alternatives to corporal punishments, and a really compelling twist, its a fun ride from start to finish.... full review

The Guardians of Wonder

I'm such an anime nerd, so this was right up my ally. But despite my obvious bias in favor of the show, the choreography was astounding, the actors engaging, and overall a blast to witness. ... full review

The Year That Carrie Fisher Died

This show hit me right in the feels. Though I may not be able to relate to the experiences directly, the main characters nerdiness was such that I related to the emotional weight as the year 2016 dragged on. A time capsule of 2016, this is a great show to watch, laugh, cry, and maybe find some catharsis. ... full review

Ghosts Can't Pay Rent

Ghosts Can't Pay Rent is cute and charming, and will pull at anyone's heartstrings. It is a tale of missed opportunities and second chances. My only wish is that it was longer. ... full review

Steps of Glory

As a person who knew very little about Lord Byron before this, I feel like in just 30 minutes, I feel like I know him intimately. Anja Racic is an amazing force to be reckoned with, and you should not miss this performance. ... full review

Apocalypse at the Rainforest Cafe

ian price · June 10, 2022 certified reviewer
Apocalypse at the Rainforest Cafe is insane, bizarre, and totally nuts. Between the acting, choreography, and the best set design I have seen at Fringe (so far), its clear that this show was made with love, and everyone was having a blast. However, for what is presented in the show, there is a lot of padding, and it has trouble justifying its longer runtime. Overall, its a mixed bag, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't at least have fun. ... full review

Three Guys, One Groupon

This amount of unfiltered masculine optimism by a bunch of guys was heartwarming, and a tad unsettling. But that clearly was by design. You'll laugh, gasp, and maybe, just for a second, regain your faith in humanity. I sure was entertained, and I'm sure you'll be too.... full review
