I went into this show having read the book. So as a fan of the book already, Richard's performance of (this abridged version of) his masterful work only enriched the story further, bringing his beautifully detailed scenes to life in a very intimate setting. His performance was funny, charming, raw, and emotional. And for those hearing The Dog Log for the first time, you will be treated to a hilarious & moving story that touches on so many aspects of life that we all struggle with....

While this show is nothing like the quirky crime dramas Barry, Breaking Bad, and Ozark, I did find myself experiencing a similar range of emotions as I do when watching those shows... amusement and giddy anticipation, while feeling a constant undercurrent of anxiety and unease. All in all, it's successfully unpredictable....
