As a committee of 6 members, we will be looking for a One Person Play that displays excellence in Solo Theatre while possessing a message that makes deeply needed, positive, and transformative social impact. We encourage BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, diversely abled artists, and anyone who has a solo story to share that aims to impact and improve the state of our world.

Qualifications

Applicants must submit a solo show/one person play that is one hour to 90 minutes in length and exemplifies excellent solo theatre technique, interesting multimedia and lighting design, dynamic storytelling and character portrayal, and most importantly socially impactful content that edu-tains, transforms, inspires the audience with its message. We encourage BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, diversely abled artists, and anyone who has a solo story to share that aims to impact and improve the state of our world.

Methodology

We at Soaring Solo Studios LLC believe deeply in the impactful, transformative & healing power of the genre of Solo Theatre. It is through sharing our unique stories that we find empathy and appreciation for our differences. Solo Artists heal and grow through the telling of their stories and therefore allow the audience an opportunity for healing & growth as well. Our committee is made up of theatrical professionals and solo artists who represent a myriad of diverse life experiences (LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Deaf, Diversely-abled, female, male, & Senior Citizens). Using our eclectic lived experiences and professional knowledge of Solo Theatre, the committee will attend the submitted solo show/one person play (online or in person) and will evaluate the level of excellence of solo theatre technique, use of interesting multimedia and lighting design, ability to demonstrate dynamic storytelling and character portrayal, and most importantly, how socially impactful the content of the story is and its power to edu-tain, transform, and inspire the audience with its timely message. The committee will all meet together to bring their top selections and discuss which one person show ultimately meets this criteria and brings forth the most significant Social Impact.

Reward
