This show is structured like a 12-step meeting – with characters coming in to tell their stories. The stories contrasted heavily, one felt like a more improvised, completely true and raw encapsulation of one persons trauma – less a theater piece and more a real “meeting share”! The other felt like a solo show-type character piece, a little more prepared and acted with some jokes written in to offset the intensity of the show. The show was also introduced by a cartoony grandma figure who felt a little out of place with the intensity, but all of these people come together in a very realistic way – meetings like this can be intense, raw, full of very wild, differing characters. Hard to watch at times with how real it felt! Definitely not a light comedy, but that is not what it is supposed to be.

Emotional! Unlike anything else you’ll see at fringe this year.
