What I liked

The Phone Calls and the character exchanges were my biggest takeaway from this play. Lets start with the characters. I really appreciated a trans-girl just sorta existing and seeing her playing video games / chilling. Her gamer girl best friend was also refreshing since that’s a type of character you don’t see depicted often. In general the banter between characters were just so realistic. Calling each other names and eating cheese puffs. Then there’s the phone calls. The way the play shows the phonecalls is so unique and really adds an extra bit of dimensional. I found myself really enthralled in general by how “beautiful” this play was. There were plenty of scenes that just felt dreamlike. Again this was just a really good play. Nothing felt clunky.

My overall impression

A raw and honest play about regrets and trauma. I found myself laughing and crying multiple times throughout this play. The acting was just so incredible and the lights/sounds/use of staging was just perfect. Everything here worked. The writing was tight and more importantly believable. I genuinely felt like this was a real night that really happened among 2 friends. The progression between conversations never felt corny or clunky it all felt so natural. The conversation between the 2 leads was just so honest yet I felt like there was plenty left unsaid. This was just a really well done play that I’ll think about for awhile.
