I loved the pacing of the play. It was so energetic and high octane that I felt like I was on a roller coaster of drama. The characters tore each other down, built each other up, cracked jokes, and were wild!
The writing was phenomenal. Weaving in and out of social and political themes all while keeping us entertained and laughing the whole time is an extremely difficult task. I was thoroughly impressed with the writing and felt like it flowed as real life would flow.
The cast was perfect. I felt each actor truly embodied their character and that immersed me into the show where I could relate to them and believe they were real. They also emanated that powerful energy to keep up with the demanding writing and deliver an impressive performance.
What I didn't like
What was interesting about this play is that it does not pick a side. It is purely comedic and entertaining. It brings up a lot of social and political themes but brushes past them or quickly nullifies them with a joke. I believe this is intentional because after all, we are here to be entertained, not lectured. But I feel taking time to pause from the fast pacing and settle on a theme could have elevated this play to be more profound and strike the audience more powerfully.
This is somewhat achieved at the end, but by then it was too late for my taste. Overall the whole show was brilliant!
My overall impression
COME SEE THIS SHOW!!! It is hilarious and super fast paced with some very talented actresses and actors. The energy is so fantastic I was having a ball.
