What I liked
Both actors were 1000% in. So different yet so comfortable together in this harsh world that they’d built for themselves. Really adored the acting. And the writing, I cannot say enough good things. Plays are hard to write well, and this one was incredible. I love how it circled back on itself and caught you by surprise so many times. At the end, when one of the characters is left onstage, I just figured it would have the simple ending, but it didn’t! It took me someplace new yet again. Brilliance all around. And wonderful direction, particularly with a choice that was made during one of the most difficult moments of the play. His placement of the characters was so simple, yet it facilitated the moment in the play to its utmost.
What I didn't like
Not a thing. One of the best productions I’ve seen, and I never say anything like this lightly.
My overall impression
I can’t stop thinking about it. One of the best new plays I’ve ever seen. The acting was breathtaking, the direction brilliant, the production top-notch, and the writing as good or better than the best! There’s one more show, on July 8, and you have no excuse for not seeing it if you can. It should be SRO!!
