What I liked

I loved Roni’s energy and commitment, her brilliant and strategic use of a simple space and props, her unabashed ownership of her narrative and identity, and her ability to pivot and take small mistakes in stride. Also, her hair, of course.

What I didn't like

The only aspect that could be improved was louder volume when the theme song came on to indicate the start of a new podcast episode. During my viewing of the performance, I found it hard to hear.

My overall impression

Roni is absolutely mesmerizing in this one-woman performance – a tongue-in-cheek yet uncensored take on being single in 2023. She is real, raw, and relatable, not to mention downright hilarious. The script is smart yet stinging, encouraging yet self-deprecating. Roni brought unparalleled energy into her show. And, she does it all while exercising! If Ginger Rogers did it backwards and in heels, Roni did it in cheetah print on a stationary bike. This show is for everyone – from millennials to boomers, from lovers to haters, from singles to…well…it did really hit for us singles. By the end of the performance, Roni had the audience in the palm of her hand, and on their feet! Give this girl an encore!
