What I liked
The actor/author lends great authority to every word and action. When he says “I ken”, you believe him. He looks right, he sounds right, he moves right.
The hint of irony at his doubts about the young Robert Bruce.
What I didn't like
I missed a few words when my ears fumbled his Scottish speech. Don’t know how to improve this.
My overall impression
A soldier, a small band of loyalists standing for independence against an army with overwhelming numbers that seeks to conquer, a heroic leader. Credible, thrilling, sometimes laugh-out-loud funny. Go and see!
