What I liked
I really loved everyone, but I gotta single out Pam for a second here… Her guidance councilor totally DESTROYED me and if I was doing Orgasmico’s O Face Award this year, she’d be a top runner. So bloody funny…so stupid funny…so smartly funny.. her present-ness in every absurd interaction gives the insanity an unexpected honesty. I also have to give Victor Isaac’s some props for directing it tightly – that line up of mics, like some karaoke firing squad was a simple but effective stylistic choice that defined the whole thing.
What I didn't like
I wanted a song from Rent? Was there a song from Rent? I’ve never seen Rent. That’s right I’ve never seen Rent.
My overall impression
The cast of talented oddballs are having an absolute blast and it’s totally infectious. If you’re needing a blithe, clever and hilarious mash up of every single song that ever happened in the 1990s/early 2000s and get transported back to all those old high school feels then this show is the time machine for you – a cabal of nostalgia!
