What I liked

The tight storytelling—Each scene is sharply focused and riveting, with characters economically introduced and developed and each part of the story essential to the theme and the character development. It takes about an hour to tell the story, but it never feels rushed or superficial or long.
Sigute Miller’s acting—She expertly captures herself in scenes from childhood to middle age with subtle and insightful facial expressions and gestures. In general, her acting is expressive and understated. It feels like she is telling her story to old friends.

What I didn't like

I liked everything. It’s well-written and well-acted, enjoyable and moving.

My overall impression

This is a very human story of the pain and guilt of addiction and the difficulty and magic of recovery. It’s a very honest portrayal, a personal story, but one that will resonate with so many of us who have witnessed the toll of addiction. Ultimately, it’s a hopeful story in which the main character draws from her own inner resources as well as her community to build her recovery. It’s a must for anyone who has ever struggled with addiction or watched someone in that struggle.
