What I liked

Many, many things, but above all—her performance. Theatrically armed only with a bare stage and a single, moveable chair, she manages to transform into the Sigute she needs to be at each and every moment of her one-person show.

What I didn't like

Given all the different transformations in her life, some additional explorations of the how’s and why’s might flesh out a monologue or two, but then again, the overall one-hour length felt right and I wouldn’t want any of the segments to be eliminated.

My overall impression

Sigute Miller weaves a rich, colorful quilt comprised of sometimes disparate, difficult elements she magically brings together through the “tragic magic” of her life. Whether it’s initially learning to roll her “R’s” in order to never forget her Lithuanian roots, or later hugging an oak tree in Lithuania, or rendering the lyrical poetry of her tragically deceased brother, or embracing the assurance of an all-knowing mahatma in India, she is constantly growing, learning, changing, repairing, and ultimately accepting, what will become the totality of her life.
