“By the End of Tonight” follows our nameless leading man as he guides the audience into helping him figure out if he should tell his best friend that he has decided to take his own life. His mental struggles have become too much, and he is deciding to no longer work through it. He stops taking his medication, and feels confident in his decision. He even feels a hint of relief having definitively made the decision.

Since he is off his medication, he is beginning to hallucinate, having full conversations with certain pieces of furniture in his apartment that are assisting him as he meticulously plots out the final days of his life; as he has decided.

The crux of his need is figuring out if he is going to inform his best friend of his plans, and if he is, then how. Recruiting his Clock, his Chair, and his audience, our main guy navigates the difficulties of living with mental illness, and exhibits the care he craves from those around him.

This story deals with a difficult topic, and uses humor as a device. It is not intended to make light of this tragic circumstance, but rather show that people are people. We are complex, and we navigate difficult circumstances every single day.
