What I liked

The length. It’s only 40min and it doesn’t drag on. I also loved the intro, it was hilarious. I loved the costumes and i loved that it all took place in one room. This whole piece was just great.

Drop the album!

What I didn't like

The audio definitely needs some work. I felt that some songs were not coming through very. Maybe it was the acoustics in the room but it made it hard to hear all of the lyrics.

Also the lighting sometimes sucked. Or maybe it was the film. Honestly it just wasn’t crystal clear and had a grainy look. Whenever the lights were on Molly it felt like they were literally on them. Natural lighting was great. But pointing the lights directly at Molly definitely obscured them.

My overall impression

Phenomenal show. Probably the best Fringe show i’ve seen. And it was VIRTUAL?!?! What! Seriously it being virtual i think actually helped it, since it was confined to a room. Very Bo Burnham-esque (assuming you’ve seen “Inside”). I always said the best art performances are the most vulnerable. This is a bedroom confined pop star singing about being non-binary, having big tits, having a dead dad, hookup culture, unfulfilled dreams, semi-realized dreams etc. All while being accompanied by a pianist. What I’m saying here is that they were honest. Each song conveyed so much emotion and it was so raw/relatable. And idk, Molly Kirschenbaum just has a delightful energy. You just wanna root for them. Sorta like a non binary hobo johnson expect with less cringe or more depending on who you ask. Either ways this show was incredible. Short, poignant and hilarious.
