What I liked
Clever humor and dialog. Acting and singing is Broadway caliber as is staging.
What I didn't like
This needs to be developed into a full length animated screen play with two more songs and the fuller character development the Fringe shortened format doesn’t allow.
Special mention to Ember Everet as the Troubadour. Her talents would fit right in as an SNL star or a cast member on Modern Family. She’s has star potential. Reminded me of Jane Curtain’s self assurance and comedy skills.
My overall impression
Think the clever dialog of Shrek meets the flowing music of Frozen and you have a feel for the potential of this new musical.
All I could think of while watching it was that DreamWorks and Disney should be beating down the author’s door for a development deal to make this into a full length animated musical. It has that kind of potential. The rave reviews it is getting are deserved.
