What I liked

Azo Safo is skilled at creating distinct physicality for each character and going in and out of them seamlessly. (I love her anthropomorphism—and I am NOT a cat person!) I got choked up when she mentioned the women starting a coop despite the patriarchy, and I almost cried when the village women presented her with the rug.
High energy sustained throughout show, making her successful at holding audience’s attention. This is no small task—being interesting enough for an hour all by yourself! Brava, Azo!

What I didn't like

Maybe some visuals and/or sounds (of her village, etc.) to put us right in the scene with her. Possibly exploring a bit of the darker side of the culture (patriarchy, sexism, etc.). I know she stated that her play was not about that, but making it more than just a quick glance in passing (she briefly mentions it toward the end) could be interesting without necessarily getting too dark and heavy for too long. The show is good as it is, but taking more risks with the material might make it more exciting. Just a thought. It’s perfectly enjoyable as is!

My overall impression

Lovely, touching, uplifting, educational.
