“Five” is a world-premiere musical which explores the five stages of grief, by exposing us to five different characters, each of whom are grappling with a major loss in their lives. Through monologues and songs, these five characters address the audience directly. At times darkly comedic and at times deeply introspective, they share their innermost thoughts and feelings, allowing us to personally relate to them and to the mysterious ways in which we as human beings process death and dying.
This show is for anyone who has ever experienced the loss of a loved one, or anyone who fears such a loss (in other words, all of us). Poignant and hopeful, it examines our human responses to being confronted with our mortality, and how we experience losing those whom we love the most.
