What I liked

Dark and edgy…
Blurs the line between whether the audience is just as much to blame for what’s eating away at the protagonists…

What I didn't like

We only learn the backstory for 2 of the characters but I hear they all have one prepared for the pre-show (audience seating). I’d like to hear all their stories during the pre-show even if the show starts a few minutes late!

My overall impression

It’s dark and edgy and there are secrets.
Powerful performances from the very top of the show. I love the director’s choice to have the actors almost-but-never-quite look at each other or even at the audience. I love the “can we join in?” feeling the audience gets to experience. There were times when the audience was directly involved, times when I thought I was part of the show, times when I absolutely knew I was not, and a few times when the cast was winking at us while barreling right on through the interaction.

The premise it brilliant. Why are these people at a bar talking about “kills”? How do you get invited? What happens when the door shuts behind them? How did they track each other down?

It feels like the first act of a much longer opus. It’s a story I want to hear more of, but for tonight we all get to have just a taste and it’s a delicious morsel.

And don’t worry: At no time are you put in an awkward situation. This is NOT immersive theater… it’s just a wink and a smirk. Well done!
