What I liked

I was familiar with Crazy Horse’s story to a certain degree and even stood at his memorial in the Black Hills, but this shed a whole new light into what his possible thoughts might have been regarding death and love. The prophecy that his own brothers in arms may be the ones to bring his downfall was riveting and heartbreaking. I also liked that it delved into the relationship where he stole the wife from another tribesmen and almost died as a result of this act of infidelity.

What I didn't like

There were moments that showed a humorous side to Crazy Horse that I wish could have been explored more.

My overall impression

The intimate space and atmosphere suited this story well as it delved into the history of the elusive figure Crazy Horse and this country’s past. Told in a dreamlike state as well as prophetic, the writing soothed and progressed at a pace that felt like a trance. The acting and accents were spot on and I enjoyed the energy, vitality and truth the actor brought. There were moments so well acted and where you were so drawn in that you forgot this was a one man show. Hats off to this production.
