The race-sex-class vortex of seemingly sci-fi manifestations of the American south was, unexpected; and good theatre must have some form/function of surprise. And… Dandy Darkly is poetry.
What I didn't like
The space is very raw, and while there’s an overall trashiness reminiscent of, Divine/Waters – the set contains two or three elements that are not utilized or expanded upon. Colorful… but arrested development.
My overall impression
The boy worked himself into a state! There was one point briefly during which the train was barreling at a run-away speed (I had to blow my whistle) but, wow! He’s got powers… and his purpose seems to be freedom.
