What I liked
I’m very impressed at how well it worked with the backing audio.
The lighting was done really effectively.
Darkly’s frenetic energy makes the show work. It’s amazing how the intensity is kept up for the whole hour. And even at that rapid pace all the words are delivered accurately and cleanly.
I can tell a lot of attention was paid to the poetry of the lines in the script.
What I didn't like
Nothing in particular! The pace and the interweaving of the stories can make it challenging to keep up with the details at times, but I think it’s best to just go with the flow and take in the big picture, which is executed very well.
My overall impression
Gonzo southern-gothic storytelling at a runaway train’s pace. A little jumbled in some places, but, on the whole interesting tales delivered via a thoroughly captivating performance by Darkly. If you like storytelling or one-person shows, definitely check out this unique experience.
