What I liked
A well executed production with great music. The lead actress is beyond charming. The Duchess gives a stand out performance, as well as the two leaders of the pickpocket crews. Catchy songs. Still singing Gift of the Lift this morning.
What I didn't like
While this show may be on brand with what this group does normally (musical improv), I personally would love to see all this talent go towards something a little more substantive. Not drama per say, but just a story with a bit more meat on it. This one feels like a hybrid between Galavant and a children’s show, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But I’m someone who wants more than a good time when I see a show, and I think this group is capable of really special things. I would next time like to see a story that challenges us a bit more.
My overall impression
Polished, funny, great music.
