An autobiographical play on the subject of growing up with a deaf parent. It was a roller coaster of a ride with humor and a touch of pathos that we can all relate to, whether or not you know anything about the deaf community. Time well spent!... full review

I am a CODA and I strongly believe that one of our greatest gifts our Deaf parents give us is the ability to tell our story in our mother tongue (hand...?), alongside the spoken language(s) we use out in the hearing world. This play was a perfect example of bridging two worlds, two cultures, and two languages. This is what it feels like to be sandwiched in the middle of two worlds--almost like an alternate universe. The performers and crew did well working with such a challenging space. Costume changes worked well. Music was awesome, and inclusive/accessible. This is labeled as a comedy... yes you will laugh a lot, but you will also cry, and give a one-finger salute in anger.... full review

“I wanted to get to people, to get to the beating human heart. I wanted to make something happen.” - Justin Maurer Go see one of the last two performances of Falling On Deaf Eyes this weekend. It’s a high-energy, punk rock-fueled tale of the powerful bond between mother and son. Justin’s light-hearted take on his struggle to navigate the challenges of growing up and becoming a man while acting as the interpreter and lifeline for his deaf single-mother is sure to entertain and move you.... full review
