What I liked
Light and funny and well paced while hiding a deeper message under those laughs. There’s a trick to the production that makes you wonder if you need to see it another time or three.
What I didn't like
The denouement was a little longer than it needed to be wrapping up a character that the audience had liked more than wrapping the story itself which had already landed so well.
My overall impression
With an already clever concept, there’s so much more under the surface. It’s easy to rebuke modern politics and long for a different time, Lincoln 2020 turns that longing on its ear. It doesn’t question the quality of our hero figures or saviors and instead the reliance on them or the belief that they’re the answer.
