We like to think that only the ignorant fall for charlatans but this play explores how other things can make us susceptible to surrendering our rationality, such as trauma, desperation and sunk cost bias. It also nicely avoided descending into the didactic by focusing on the humanity of the characters.
What I didn't like
A warning to the squeamish though it was tastefully handled. The gentleman seated behind me, however, was rather disturbed.
